My name is Isaiah Scott I am 12 years old and a student at Memorial Upper Elementary School  in Willingboro NJ, I recently was nominated by my sixth grade teacher Mrs. Tracey Holland  recognized me as an outstanding individual who achieved academic excellence and possessed strong leadership potential to represent Memorial Upper Elementary School and the State of New Jersey at the Junior National Young Leaders Conference (JrNYLC) to be held this fall 2009 in Washington, DC.

The Congressional Youth Leadership Council nominates exceptional students from around the country to attend an experimental education program.  My website will have a sample of our itinerary for your review.  As you can see, this will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with many prominent men and women whom most of us only read about in the news

My participation in the conference depends on whether I can raise the tuition of $2350.  I am investing every dollar I can of my own money to make sure I don't miss out on this unique opportunity.  My family and I have come up with different fundraiser for which I am asking for your support such as candy, bake sales, dinner sales, Kool-Aid stand and more.

Attending this progam will give me the opportunity to enhance my skills and abilities and develope my communciations, negotiation, critical thinking skills while analyzing information to recognize that leaders have a responsibility to make choices that have a positive effect on every community to serve as both leaders and followers in group situations, to relate leadership characteristics to social, cultural and historical context and to apply problem solving skills and techniques.

My educational accomplishment consist of receiving the High Achievers Award in Willingboro Public School for Academic Excellence the last 3 years being on the Honor Roll from 1st grade to current. My most recent acomplishment was being 1 of 4 students in Burlington County  to have there poem selected to be published in the town newspaper for the April Poetry Month.   Isaiah has also had the privilege of being in the gifted and talent program in Willingboro School since 3rd grade which has really helped me build my skills and pushed me to work harder in all my studies. Isaiah was recently awarded outstanding achievement in the Gifted & Talent Program on   June 13, 2009, and received the award at a luncheon held at Willingboro High School.
